Spring Training Facilities

 In Fishkind Commentaries

August 6th, 2013 | WMFE- Osceola County is considering whether to build a $98 million spring training facility for the Washington Nationals baseball team. The stadium would be funded by the county’s tourist development tax. The tax is typically five or six cents on overnight accommodation and it can only be used to build convention centers, sports and entertainment facilities and similar attractions. 90.7 economic analyst Hank Fishkind says Osceola County would effectively tie up all of its tourist development tax for the next 30 years if it goes ahead with the spring training facility.
