Scott’s Policies Suppressing Job Growth

 In Fishkind Commentaries

July 24, 2012 | WMFE – Employment figures were released Friday for the month of June and the state’s overall jobless rate was unchanged at 8.6 percent even though the US as a whole saw employment gains. Florida’s economy has generated nearly 67,000 new jobs in the year since June 2011 but that represents a gain of less than one percent.

Gov. Rick Scott made a number of appearances around the state last week to tout job growth. The governor says his business friendly policies are responsible for creating more jobs in Florida. Economic analyst Hank Fishkind disagrees. He says the Governor Scott’s policies are actually suppressing job growth.
