February 11, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando – The increasing competition for scarce water has re-ignited the decades-long “water wars” between Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Florida had until Monday to complete the process of filing a new lawsuit with the U-S Supreme Court, and today, the state waits to learn whether the justices will agree to hear the case. Economic analyst Hank Fishkind tells 90.7’s Nicole Creston that the tri-state “water wars” are similar to the trouble Florida is facing with water scarcity within its own borders.
